A saleroom full of eager buyers were treated to a catalogue packed with a really varied selection of classic antiques, collectors’ items and a specialist photographic section.

The sale opened with a stunning Art Nouveau display cabinet by Shapland & Petter which sold to a telephone bidder for £1500, and proving that the demand for quality furniture is still strong a pair of Victorian mahogany elbow chairs sold for £460, a lovely satinwood pier cabinet made a healthy £420 and a late 19th century Bureau de Dame went under the hammer for £360.





 The bidders were equally keen to obtain contemporary furniture, as proven by a 1960’s three-piece suite at £420, an Italian dining suite £260 and a nest of three Ercol tables which sold for £190.

Clocks & watches provided excellent results with a pagoda top mantel clock selling for £400, a gold plated open face pocket watch £360 and a Beuche-Girod 9ct ladies wristwatch £270.


Elsewhere in the sale a set of twenty-three Royal Doulton “The Snowmen Gift Collection” figures sold for a very impressive £640 and an 18ct white gold ring made £680. In the camera section, a good range of equipment was topped by a really clean example of a Pentax 67 which made a healthy £480.
