10/01/2019 : January Auction Highlights

A roundup of results from our January sale

Chiffonier

Our January auction was a great start to the New Year. Lot one got us off to a flying start, with this Regency mahogany chiffonier selling for £320. Other highlights in the furniture section included a set of four Ekornes Stressless high back recliner sofa chairs, which brought £380 and a Faarup Mobelfabrik Scandinavian teak extending dining table sold for £280.

 Lenci

The star lot overall was this beautiful c.1930 Lenci figure, which brought £3,700 after fierce competition from bidders both online and on the phones. Other lots of note included a cased set of sixteen gold proof miniature coins 'The World's Finest Gold Miniatures Collection', which achieved £500 and a collection of c.1960s books and DC comics, which sold for £480.

 Rolex

As always, we finished the sale with jewellery and watches, including this Rolex ladies' Oyster Perpetual Datejust wristwatch, which sold for £1,200. A c.1960s gentlemen's wristwatch by International Watch Co brought £400 and a gentlemen's 9ct heavy curb link bracelet sold for £480.

Our next auction is Antiques and Collectors' Items with Jewellery & Silver, on Wednesday 6th February 2019 at 10.00, with viewing on Tuesday 5th February from 10.00-20.00. The deadline for consignment for this auction is Wednesday 23rd January.
