22/04/2013 : From Mallett's mallett to Mallett's Palette.....
On the 8th May the latest Antique and collectors Auction at Adam Partridge Liverpool features one of the most unusual items consigned for some time.
Back in the 1980's Timmy Mallett was known as a children's television presenter but in recent years has become recognised as a very talented and gifted artist. His oils sell through some of the countries leading contemporary art galleries and he now has fans world wide for his paintings. However, it is not a canvas being sold on May 8th, but an upright piano! Timmy painted the piano on Preston railway station and decorated it with Poppies relating to Remembrance Day, which was then given to Rock FM's charity; Lancashire Cash For Kids.
The piano is being sold with all proceeds going to the charity with a guide price of £2000-£4000.
He is not the only famous face represented at the auction, as David Dickinson will be bringing his "Real Deal" team to the auction as well. They are filming items which were consigned at the valuation day held at the Anglican Cathedral and join a bumper sale of Antiques, Art and Collectors' items.
The auction starts at 10am on Wednesday 8th, with viewing on Tuesday 7th May from 10am-8pm.
