07/02/2017 : February Auction Highlights
Highlights from our February auction.
Our February auction was a resounding success, with another busy saleroom treated to some marvellous lots.
The highlight of the auction was this beautiful George III pocket terrestrial globe, costing nearly the earth with a hammer price of £2700. It's off to a globetrotting collector in warmer climes.
Another fantastic result was this wonderful Edward VII hallmarked silver novelty tortoise table bell by Grey & Co of Birmingham, for which the buyer shelled out £1450.
A surprising lot was this collection of Everton FC football programmes from the 1950s-1970s, which reached well above their estimate. Though the saleroom was divided somewhat on the subject matter, one determined Evertonian fought off stiff competition to take them home for £1250.
Elsewhere in the sale this L S Lowry print brought £1000 and a A George III spade guinea from 1788 brought £1050.
