A roundup of results from our September sale
It was another busy sale last week, with lots of bidders attending in the room and many more bidding online or via the phone.
Our jewellery section did very well, with the one of the stars lot being this butterscotch colour amber-style graduated natural bead necklace which brought £2,100. A beautiful Art Deco platinum diamond and sapphire hexagonal cluster ring brought £880 and a malachite brooch with image of gorgon in a yellow metal frame sold for £360.
The watch section also performed admirably, with this Rolex gentlemen's Oyster Speedking wristwatch bringing £1,250 and another Rolex 9ct gold 1950s wristwatch selling for £860. A Marvin 9ct gold ladies' wristwatch also brought £400.
Highlights of the camera section included this Franke & Heidecke Rolleiflex twin lens reflex 2-1/4 inch (6cm x 6cm) camera, in original leather case, a Yashica viewing lens no.2 and a Rollei-H1 lens, which sold for £200, a camera bag containing a Nikon D800 camera, a Nikon AF/S Nikkor 24-70mm lens, a Nikon Nanocrystal Coat SWRFED Aspeherical 077 lens no.251901, a Nikon AF-S Nikkor 70-200mm 1:2.8g II ED lens and a Speedlite flash YN560 III which sold for £2,050, a camera bag containing a Nikon D4SFX camera with A.F.S Nikkor lens, a small Manfrotto tripod, a Nikon A.F.S. 16.35mm lens, a Manfrotto full-size tripod and various camera equipment to include brushes, small lenses etc. which sold for £1,900 and a lot containing Nikon F4 camera, a Contax G1 camera, an Olympus 35RC camera, an Olympus Trip camera, a cased Ross Ensign camera, etc. which brought £420.
Elsewhere in the sale, these three 19th century portrait miniatures sold for £640, a modern Schmeckenbecker bracket clock brought £600, a vintage cabinet maker's toolbox, containing a quantity of vintage tools to include saws, planes, chisels etc. sold for £560 and an Omani hardwood and brass decorated chest sold for £620.
