La Courtille (Paris porcelain, 1771-1840); a large heart-shaped dome-top casket with ormolu rim, central hand-painted vignette with figures of young lovers playing hide-and-seek in woodland within a heavily-raised gilded border of laurel leaves, scrolls and flora, curved shaped base with four hand-painted vignettes of Palladian buildings by water, castles and woodland, with raised gilt decoration in between, hinged lid to interior hand-painted floral decoration of roses, foxgloves, forget-me-nots and other flowers, crossed blue torch marks to base, 33 x 14cm.

4 rim chips approx 3mm each around rim of teapot. Tea caddy has extensive wear to ebonised body and lid. Scrapes to body and handles missing, one chip to top of one flower, mild surface wear and chips throughout, replacement finial.

Condition Report

Wear to all pieces, tea bowl has rim chip. Rim chips and gilt wear throughout. Saucer with Chinese calligraphy has two minor frits to edge, gilt edging heavily rubbed, most of it missing, wear to gilt areas in centre of bowl and minor paint rub.
