Condition Report

All worn and will need some attention. The sabre with some corrosion to the blade, all with heavy surface wear. The bayonet blade is heavily pitted.

Condition Report

All in need of serious restoration, all have issues including corrosion to the blades. The guard on the German example has become detached from the grip at the pommel, the metal covering of the grip back has also come off. The spadroon has severe corrosion to the blade. Heavy surface wear and tear throughout.

The Chassepot type bayonet scabbard top has become separated from the body, all items heavily worn, the wooden mounts of the Erfurt example are coming loose and have possibly been replaced.

Condition Report

The sabre blade is heavily pitted, the blade appears to have been ground down, further heavy pitting and some corrosion to the handle, wear to the painted grip, the joints of the grip are also slightly loose, the second sword; the blade feels very loose and has considerable bend, significantly corroded to the centre section and the finish has worn off the majority of the blade, the handle has also lost the majority of its brass coloured finish, some wire-work is loose, the guard is also loose at the joints, general heavy wear throughout including two scabbard.
